PA Cooper Carpentry became a business in 1985 with Paul Cooper himself and one apprentice, William Kneller. The business grew steadily even throughout the recession in the 80’s, with things picking up still further in 1989.

By 1993 the business had increased so that a full time surveyor / estimator was employed and there had been a succession of apprentices. In 1995, the requirement was for a Contracts Manager a role given to William Kneller. Followed the next year by an administration manager.

In 2000 the company became Limited, changing its name to Coopers Carpentry Contractors Ltd. and continued to expand. In 2004 Coopers employed Jon Farrow as Quantity Surveyor / Estimator and Adam Cooper as an Assistant Surveyor to bolster the Commercial team. One of Jons first projects was the 2005 relocation of the company to a larger office space which had been refurbished by Coopers to meet their specific needs. This year also saw William Kneller become Contacts Director and a partner in the business.

As we are all aware 2007 saw another major recession within the construction industry. The company had to adapt in order to sustain its ability to provide a quality service. Moving forward with a new structure which holds the same ideals as the former to meet the challenges in a changed industry.

Today the structure sees both Paul Cooper and William Kneller at the head of Hands on Quality Control and Senior Management with Jon Farrow and Adam Cooper providing strong Commercial Management. Nicola Taggart has since joined the company on a part time basis to fill the role of administrative assistant, along with her four legged helper Boo, the office stress removing dog, ready to meet and greet all visitors.
